What Camping Gear Do You Need With Kids

Monday, August 31st, 2009

If you are choosing to go camping with kids, you need to spend a little more time planning than if you were going with yourself or just other adults. It is harder to wing it with kids because complaining voices are not going to make your trip enjoyable. Simple things can make a big difference.

For example, make sure you have layers for sleeping, bug spray for the nighttime and first aid equipment even for the most basic camping trip.  It may take longer to prepare but you should bring bikes or other fun outdoor equipment that the kids can play with while you are setting up and/or just trying to relax.

If you have small children with you, you will just need one big tent, don’t try to put little kids in a separate tent or you will regret it in the middle of the night. Kids don’t generally need a soft space to sleep so feel free to leave them on the ground while you take air mattresses or mats.  You will need clothesline for hanging all the kids wet gear and flashlights for everyone.  And, you definitely need a camp stove instead of relying on your campfire for cooking.

Plan a camping holiday make arrangements and move

Do not hurry deciding for a camping holiday because these are memorable experiences and you must not haste unless it is an emergency. Holidays are enjoyable when they are properly planned and you have all the necessary camping equipment with you. The first thing is to plan out a place and for this you must take time, research either locally or on Internet and select the best suitable one that fits in your budget as well as gives you absolute exposure and unforgettable experience of your camping holiday.

Not only this you must also have the necessary equipment so that you don’t find it uneasy or problematic staying out. Keep the gear and tools necessary for light and warmth, cooking and sleeping at night comfortably with you. It is obvious that you will not have complete comfort out there but you can make maximum out of it.

Light and heating tools are very important, keep the emergency number along with you and choose a safe place for camping if you just want to enjoy out in the arms of nature. You will have all the things that are with you everyday, the sky, the moon and silence of the night but you will feel a completely different and unique experience there.

Essential packing for the camping holiday

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

Even if you have planned for a camping holiday in summer, nights can be colder when you are under the open sky. So keep the quilt and other necessary things like folding or inflatable bedding or so. You must also keep a LED lantern, as you will need light at night apart from the campfire.  It is good to see that the sky is clear and there are no signs of rain, as that will completely spoil your holiday.

You should reach the camping place with all the camping equipment earlier than evening so that you get an idea of the place and its hazards in daylight. It will be easier for you at night to move and enjoy without fearing about anything. Make arrangements for the campfire and the dinner earlier so that all of you enjoy together.

You can take light cooking equipment and some simple and easy to make recipes so that you can have at least something as a meal. Going out for a camping holiday and dining in a restaurant will not be possible and doesn’t sound natural too. On a camping holiday when you are close to Mother Nature you need to have the complete experience of natural environment and food too.

Moving on for a camping holiday fills in enthusiasm in all and if you are moving with your family you need to have thought a lot about safety and location. If you have small children you must not go near to any lake or any forest area but it is better you choose a location that is artificially created so that there is no danger at all.

Children too will like to enjoy feely in the arms of Mother Nature but as a parent you will have to look after their needs and safety measures also. Have the emergency first aid kit with you when you start and all the things that are required for your child so that your holiday ends with absolute enjoyment and full of unforgettable memories.

When you are with children your concentration is always on them and their activities. Choosing such a site will keep you relaxed and you could also enjoy the holiday as much as all the others. Make sure that they play in safe place and don’t go far from you. Keep an eye on them and let them enjoy as well as you take your relaxation and enjoy with friends or family members.

Choose a safe camping site for complete enjoyment

Camping is a great experience for all regardless of age, gender and race. It is a thrilling experience and has lots of unforgettable memories included in it. However in addition to this the fact cannot be denied that camping has in itself lot of dangers and safety measures and safe camping equipment are required anyway.

The soothing scenery of sky with the moon shining there and seeing this from the tent window and enjoying the beauty of nature at night so closely are in fact more appreciable on an outdoor camping holiday. While choosing a camping site it is advisable to follow some points that will help you be safe and secure even when you are exploring the beauty of nature in the silent hours of night.

Choose the camping site that is especially designed for camping purposes so that natural dangers are not there. You will have to pay for it so select the best one that suits your budget and fulfills your desire too. Take care that there is all emergency facilities and have the phone numbers so that if in case you can make a call. The site must have complete network coverage so that you can be in touch with all.

Camping Gear I prefer to use

Saturday, August 8th, 2009

When planning a camping trip there are some items that are essential to take.  The point of going camping is to have fun and enjoy wilderness and the company of your other camping mates.  To make a trip enjoyable I prefer to take: a tent, sleeping bag or mattress and blankets, a cooler, flashlight, and some gear for starting a fire.  I feel that these are the bare minimums for an enjoyable camping trip.

A tent is important because it keeps you dry and safe from bugs and animals.  If you have a good quality sleeping bag you will not need a mattress or blankets, but either will work.  You will need a way to see in the dark, so a flashlight or lantern can help light your way. You will need a cooler to keep your food fresh and safe so that you do not starve.  Lastly, you will need some basic items for starting a fire, like; matches, lighter, scrap paper, and your own wood if you can feasibly bring it.  These items will ensure that you have a safe and happy camping trip.
