Wide Variety of Features in Camping Stoves

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

For the avid camper or camping family, it’s a good idea to have a camping stove. Small models are so affordable now (as little as $30) that there really is no reason not to get one. When compared with the inconvenience and messiness of trying to cook over a campfire three meals a day, an inexpensive camp stove is well worth the price you pay.  Camp stoves come in a wide variety of different configurations. The most traditional model looks a little like a briefcase that opens to reveal two burners and is powered by a propane tank.

Unless you want to cook squatting at floor-level, it’s recommended to place the stove on a picnic table for cooking.   Other stoves have a large four-burner capacity, larger propane tanks, and legs. This eliminates the need for a picnic table. Another common type of stove is the ultra-light backpacking stove. It consists of a single burner attached to a propane tank. The first two types are good for casual camping enthusiasts camping in groups or families. The second is good for the camper/backpacker who is traveling alone or is just cooking for himself.

My favorite binocular has made by trip to Switzerland more beautiful

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

One year back my best friend and I had been to Switzerland and it was a memorable trip we had in last few years. We were feeling like we were in paradise at that time. The most important gadget that has helped in making that trip more beautiful was my favorite binocular. There were many places where we cannot see the beauty of nature with our eyes as we were not be able to see the things which are at distance place.  But my binocular has helped a lot in making those things closer to our eyes.

I would say without my binocular that trip might not go that much beautiful.  Now I have learned that whenever we go for any holiday trip then it is must to have good binocular so that we can enjoy the beauty of nature easily.  I will recommend the readers to buy good quality binoculars and make it ready whenever you are going for a holiday trip.

Carrying an Emergency Outdoor Tent

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

Many backpackers who are hiking in good weather conditions decide to forgo carrying an outdoor tent and instead just pick a lightweight tarp or pad.  But it is always a good idea to carry an emergency tent in case weather conditions turn bad or ill health strikes.  Fortunately, there are many extremely light weight emergency tents on the market that make a great choice for a backpacker.

Lightweight emergency tents add only a few ounces to the backpacker’s load and can be set up in mere moments with no equipment.  Most fit a single person, but some can be found that will fit two.  Many hikers have been saved by having had the foresight to carry an emergency tent.  Carrying a tarp is not a good alternative, because it can take a long time to set up the tarp adequately to protect you from the weather.  In the case of a sudden storm, you won’t have any time to spare.  You certainly don’t want to be caught out in the storm shivering while struggling to anchor a tarp that keeps threatening to blow away.

Different types of Catamarans and their functions

Friday, November 7th, 2008

Most Catamarans are dual-hulled boats, meaning that they contain two different hulls, called Amas, separated by two poles, called Akas, which typically carry a platform between them. Most Catamarans differentiate in sizes, although recently they have drifted towards the larger side, becoming bigger and bigger, until today, where they are commonly very large boating vehicles.

One different type of Catamaran is the Pontoon boat. This boat is very similar to the typical Catamaran, but instead has a platform that is placed on the Akas, with additional flotation devices underneath. It is very cheap to make and is very conventional. Most of these boats are motor powered, and are very stable. Many are passenger boats as well. They require no ballast, and this makes them very, very efficient.

Another type of Catamaran, known as the Swatch (Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull) is another common type of Catamaran. It was invented by Canadian Frederick G. Creed during the year of 1938. These Catamarans have very, very broad decks, but much, much higher water resistance than mono-hulled boats of comparative size. The increased size, allows for increased displacement, which makes them extremely efficient in rough water, and these vessels are commonly used in navy’s across the world.

The Best Place To Camp

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

There are a lot of different types of campgrounds you can take advantage of on your camping trip.  The best place for you will depend on exactly what you’re looking for in a camping experience.  Some people like to go camping in a secluded wooded area. This can make them feel closer to nature.  Those who choose this type of camping experience will have a lot of privacy but will also need to make sure they bring extra camping gear. They won’t have access to things like electricity or running water and will need to make sure they pack accordingly.

Others prefer a more structured camp site.  This will be in a group camping area that will have lots of different campers around. This is nice because they get to meet a lot of new people and maybe even make life long friends.  They also will likely have access to running water and electricity.  Some campgrounds even come with a kitchen that campers are able to use.  This is nice because the campers get to have a lot of amenities, which means they can travel lighter, but they will miss out on some of the more rustic aspects of camping.
