Types of hunting knife handles and blades can easily be compiled into a book because of the endless varieties available. The blades come is different sizes and designs with different material like stainless steel, aluminum, and brass used in their make. Hunting knives have handles normally made of stainless steel but they can also be made of wood and plastic. The wooden knife handles are well known for their easy and comfortable grip. Even the custom handles are made using stabilized and laminated woods. Beside that hunting knives with plastic handles are can easily be maintained and Mircata handles are known for their stability, toughness and insulating features.

Likewise the hunting knife blades are made of different materials and combination of different types of handles. A hunter would always look for the knife that provides features of both the handle and blade, which suits his requirement. Some would go for a wooden handle with a brass made blade and others with a plastic handles with aluminum blade. Using Pocket Knives In An Emergency

Wednesday, October 1st, 2008

A pocket knife is a great tool to have around in case of an emergency. There are all kinds of situations that can arise that are much easier handled with a pocket knife.  One example is in the event of a car crash.  If your passenger, or you yourself, are trapped in a seatbelt, a pocket knife is an invaluable tool that can be used to free the trapped person.  They can also be used to cut away clothing in the case that first aid needs to be done to a wound.

One use for pocket knives that one hopes they will never need it for is to use it to ward off a human or animal in the case of attack.  If you’re trapped in the wilderness, a pocket knife can be used to cut fruits and remove harmful thorns from different fruits.  In this case, you can also use your pocket knife as a flint to get a fire started to provide safety and warmth. Of course we all hope we will never be in these situations but having a pocket knife handy can be a literal life saver.
