Camping at The Applewhite Campgrounds in Lytle Creek, CA

Monday, July 27th, 2009

The Applewhite Campgrounds are an ideal place for testing out your camping gear. You simply pay the fee required to camp there and go to your desired lot. There is a bench that you may eat at, plenty of camping space to accommodate you and your family or friends, a space to park your vehicle and a fire pit to cook your meals if you don’t have a camping cooker.

There is also a creek near by which also requires a fee. After that is paid however, you have access to the creek, which you may fish, swim and canoe in. Canoe rentals are also near the campsite. If you’re feeling adventurous there is a hiking trail not too far from the campgrounds that leads to Bonita Falls. Bonita Falls is a beautiful waterfall and is definitely worth the hike. The hike isn’t very long either; it takes about 45-50 minutes for an inexperienced hiker to reach the waterfall.
