The Ideal Picnic Items for My Camping Trip
When going on a camping trip, a picnic is an American tradition. A simple picnic basket full of lunch to feed either your entire family, or perhaps make for an intimate date. Even the word picnic is embedded in the American psyche, bringing forth images of a sunny day, a grassy hill topped by an oak tree for shade, and a wicker basket topped with a red and white checkered blanket.
Before you go on a picnic though, you must pack it. You’ll need food, beverages, cutlery, and plates or bowls. You’ll need a basket to pack things in, a cooler to keep your cold items refrigerated, and a Beach Hugger Beach Blanket to sit on. You might also need camping equipment and gear, especially if you plan to make your outing last more than a few hours.
Next you must have your time and location for your picnic items. Make sure to check the weather forecast in advance so that you can get a nice day. Also be sure to sit down to eat somewhere with equal parts sun and shade. You don’t want things to be too dark or too bright and hot.
Most importantly though, is the food. I would choose to pack a whole broiled chicken for the main course, with gravy made from its juices, cooked alongside potatoes and carrots, which the Arizona State Engraved Fiero BBQ Set is perfect for. There are several types of salads to choose from; traditional, egg salad, potato salad, noodle salads, or, my favorite, my aunt’s Fox and Hound salad. A casserole is also a good idea for a picnic.
For sides, I would choose from a wide variety of foods, including mini pickles, devilled eggs, mixed nuts, black olives, cheese and crackers, mini sausages, and so many other finger foods you can imagine. Desserts can consist of pies, cakes, jello, pastries, or practically anything sweet, that can be placed in the Barrel - Riviera Stripe Deluxe Basket. I’d go with a thick golden cherry pie with the big sugar granules on top.
Drinks depend on the situation, and are really more of an individual thing to cater to the tastes of the individuals going on the trip, so take along the Arizona State Embroidered Malibu Picnic Pack. Obviously a large pitcher of water and a few liters of various juices are a necessity, but beyond that, each person will select their own favorite thing, mine being Coca-Cola. In the case of a romantic evening, a light white wine is the drink of choice providing you’re both old enough.
Finally, I would bring along all the miscellaneous necessities; ice to keep things cold, appropriate serving utensils, and perhaps a battery powered radio. You may wish to also bring bug spray, and you absolutely should bring along a trash bag to throw things away in. Once you’re ready, load everyone up, grab some sunscreen, and go enjoy a picnic, while laying the Sunshine Picnic Blanket Tote, Driftwood!
